Background
Blue Bottle Coffee is a renowned San Francisco-based roaster celebrated for its exceptional quality and unwavering commitment to the craft of coffee. Known for their artisanal approach and dedication to perfection, Blue Bottle has built a loyal following through their iconic cafés. In an effort to expand their reach and bring their premium coffee experience to more people, they introduced a line of pre-packaged drinks for retail. This new venture allowed coffee lovers to enjoy Blue Bottle’s delicious coffeee, whether they’re at home, on the go, or anywhere in between.
Objective
The challenge was to develop a packaging solution for Blue Bottle’s New Orleans Iced Coffee, a deliciously bold pre-mixed coffee blend. The packaging had to meet several key criteria: it needed to preserve the freshness of the beverage, withstand the demands of refrigerated storage, and, most importantly, eliminate the use of single-use plastics. The goal was to create a sustainable, functional package that not only protected the quality of the coffee but also aligned with the brand’s commitment to environmental responsibility.
